The FCT Commissioner of Police, Benneth Igweh, announced the arrest of suspects in Abuja, detailing their apprehension by operatives from the Rapid Response Squad (RRS 74) on Friday.
Muhammad Isah from Kafanchan, Kaduna State, was intercepted while driving a Toyota Hiace bus (registration number APP 489 XE) containing 12 children—four males and eight females. These underage children, aged between 5 and 16 years, were being transported from Akwanga, Nasarawa State, to Ogun State.
Further investigation revealed that the trafficked children hailed from Akwanga LGA and were allegedly trafficked by Pastor Kado and Jesse Simon Kado, who are currently in police custody.
Efforts are underway, in collaboration with the Nasarawa State Police Command, to reunite the victims with their families. Commissioner Igweh urged residents to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to the command via emergency lines: 08032003913, 08061581938, 07057337653, and 08028940883; PCB: 09022222352.
